About ReelSoundtrack

Welcome to the ReelSoundtrack Blog, the gregarious sister site of ReelSoundtrack, which is the most comprehensive database of the complete movie soundtracks (plus a some TV shows and ads) available on the web. How’s that for a lead? We have 50,000 songs from 5,000 movies and are adding more each day.

When I say we, that may be a bit misleading. We is really me: Monte.

This has been my personal obsession (and my wife’s bane) for years. A lot of midnight movies and early morning Saturday matinees. Not to mention dueling Tivos and maxed out super user NetFlix accounts, plus endless iterations of the question: “what’s the song in the scene where…”? But she was the muse for it all so we strike a balance. Six years ago, I made her the REAL soundtrack to movie shag, containing all of the songs from the movie, because the soundtrack CD did not have a single one.

When she talked about the gift, other people started asking (or telling) about songs they loved in other movies. So I started a database and I snagged a web-designer friend, and the rest is ReelSoundtrack history.

I hope you enjoy the ReelSoundtrack blog, and if you are curious about the songs or soundtracks of your favorite movies, I highly encourage you to visit the ReelSoundtrack Web site. It has videos and downloads for all the movies I write about here and many thousands more. Hope you enjoy.
